Minka Next Step – The future of production

Our goal is to become the leading staircase manufacturer in Europe by 2030. To achieve this goal, we are relying on a combination of market expansion, new product developments and the consistent digitalisation of our production. To this end, the ‘Minka Next Step’ innovation project was launched and implemented.

Minka Next Step – The future of production

Minka Holz- und Metallverarbeitungs GmbH has been one of the leading manufacturers of staircases in Europe for over 70 years. With our ambitious innovation project ‘Minka Next Step’, we are facing up to the challenges of the market and focussing on state-of-the-art technologies, sustainability and automation.

The challenges facing our industry

The construction industry is facing major challenges: high material costs, rising interest rates and increasing competitive pressure from Asia. Nevertheless, we were able to keep our sales stable and even increase them. We have strengthened our market position, particularly through innovations in the area of system staircases.

Our vision: Minka as number 1 in Europe

Our goal is to become the leading staircase manufacturer in Europe by 2030. To achieve this goal, we are relying on a combination of market expansion, new product developments and the consistent digitalisation of our production. The ‘Minka Next Step’ innovation project was launched for this purpose. This project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. The measures in the ‘Minka Next Step’ project

As part of our project, we are investing in numerous forward-looking technologies. These are intended to fulfil the following purposes:

  • Automation of production: New tube laser systems and the automation of packaging will increase our efficiency.
  • Digitalisation: The networking of our CNC machines enables faster and more precise production.
  • Sustainability: We are replacing plastic with metal or wood to increase the stability and environmental friendliness of our products.
  • Material innovation: The use of new materials such as vinyl and parquet for system staircases provides more design variety.

In addition, we will increasingly focus on the circular economy and decarbonisation in the future. By dispensing with PVC and increasing the use of sustainable materials, we are actively helping to reduce our ecological footprint.
