Minka Wood

ONE SYSTEM. COUNTLESS POSSIBILITIES.

With Minka Wood, you can bring nature into your life—whether as wall paneling in your living room or as outdoor decking. The wood adds warmth, character, and a relaxed atmosphere. It simply makes your home more beautiful and a little more natural.

Wood Refinement

Wood refinement refers to all processes that make wood more durable, attractive, or functional. These include, for example, oiling, varnishing, brushing, or thermal treatments. As a result, the wood becomes more resistant to moisture, sunlight, or wear – while also gaining character, such as through a more pronounced grain or special color tones.

This way, the natural appearance of the wood is preserved, while making it even better suited for furniture, wall panels, or decking. Wood refinement therefore combines protection with design – practical and beautiful at the same time.

Brushing

Brushing isn’t about cleaning, but about refinement. Special brushes are used to remove the softer wood fibers. This makes the grain stand out more, gives the surface depth and texture, and lends the wood a particularly natural appearance.

Hewing

In the past, carpenters used an adze to work on boards and beams, giving the wood character. We have revived this traditional technique. The result: wood surfaces with a lively, rustic texture reminiscent of historic craftsmanship. Each piece thus becomes unique – with a distinctive look and a pronounced Alpine character.

Thermal Treatment

In thermal treatment, wood is heated under controlled conditions to between 190 and 212 °C – entirely without chemicals. This environmentally friendly process gives the material a darker, more refined color, much like a sunbath. At the same time, the wood’s dimensional stability and durability are significantly improved. The result is a natural protection that is both practical and aesthetically appealing.

Coating

With special oils and glazes, the wood is not only visually refreshed but also protected against weathering and graying. Applied using modern brushing and spraying techniques, the result is a surface that combines color, durability, and longevity – a true beauty and protection treatment for every board.
