Minka takes over Mareiner Holz

Minka Treppen is taking over Mareiner Holz GmbH from January 2025 in order to continue its production of high-quality wood products. Despite previous successes, Mareiner ran into financial difficulties, which are now to be resolved through the takeover. We look forward to embarking on an exciting future together.

Minka takes over Mareiner Holz

We are pleased to announce a ground-breaking development: the takeover of the long-established company Mareiner Holz GmbH. The production and distribution of high-quality wood products will continue at the site from 7 January 2025.

Mareiner has always been known for its innovative and high-quality products such as wall panelling, flooring and other wood applications. Despite its outstanding quality and a strong market presence in over 15 countries, the company recently ran into financial difficulties and had to file for insolvency. The takeover by Minka gives Mareiner a new perspective and makes it part of a globally successful company.

Takeover secures jobs

As part of the takeover, around 20 employees in the administration and production departments of Mareiner Holz will be integrated into the Minka Group. In the medium term, the plan is to at least double the number of employees and thus further expand the company’s capacities. ‘Safeguarding jobs and strengthening the Mürztal region were key concerns for us,’ emphasises Ernst Janner, Managing Director of Minka Holz- und Metallverarbeitungs GmbH. ‘We are delighted to incorporate the expertise and commitment of the Mareiner team into our company.’

Shared values and synergies

Minka and Mareiner share a common company philosophy: a focus on quality, innovation and sustainability. While Minka is established as one of the global market leaders in the staircase sector with sales partners in 45 countries, Mareiner brings its expertise in the wood sector and also an export-oriented focus.

‘Combining our expertise offers enormous potential,’ says Janner. ‘Together, we can expand our market presence both nationally and internationally and at the same time utilise synergies in areas such as production, logistics, administration and marketing.’

Expanded product range and new opportunities

The integration of the two companies not only enables existing processes to be optimised, but also opens up new areas of business. By combining expertise in metalworking, powder coating and woodworking, new products can be developed in the future – such as high-quality tables, benches and other complete solutions for living and outdoor areas.

These products will be available worldwide via our proven sales channels – from builders’ merchants and timber dealers to DIY stores and online retailers.

‘With this acquisition, we are sending a clear signal in favour of growth, cohesion and regional value creation,’ says Janner. The Minka Group is looking forward to continuing the success story of Mareiner Holz and jointly developing new markets and opportunities.
